Christian Heritage of Dumbarton – Trip to the Castle

The Christian Heritage of Dumbarton braehead psproject of Dumbarton Churches Together (of which Riverside and West Kirk st michael's + washerwomanare part) again organised a trip for P6/P7 children from local schools to the Castle, in connection with St Columba’s Day. 120 children from five schools explored the castle, assisted by some enthusiastic guides and helpers – learning about the Castle’s long history, and the long connection between the Christian Church and Dumbarton. It finished with a short service where children from different schools shared prayers for each other and for the townbraehead + Liz

St Columba’s Day School event

On St Columba’s Day (9 June) Dumbarton Churches Together, through their Dumbarton Christian Heritage project, invited all P7 children from Dumbarton schools to visit the Castle together and learn about the town’s history. Lovely sunny day. Provost and Keeper of the Castle attended a short service where children from the school expressed their hopes for the present and future in their prayers.
