Getting your kids through church without them ending up hating God
Every year, thousands of young people leave the church and for many of us, this is a personal concern. However many of them don’t actually turn their back on God, but on something else.
This tour, presented by Care for the Family, is an opportunity for parents, church leaders and youth workers to join Rob Parsons, Saltmine Theatre Company and Abi Williams as we discover together what that “something” might be – and try to change it.
- God has no grandchildren

At least twenty eight members and friends of Riverside Church are set to enjoy a night out at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Tuesday 12th November, to see the stage production of “The Lion King”. Transport, by coach, from Dumbarton has been organized.
One of the biggest musicals around, all are assured of a stunning performance!
A bus full of Riverside members travelled to Cardonald in support of Eleanor at her Introduction to St Nicholas Cardonald on Tuesday 16th April.
The group, on behalf of the whole congregation of Riverside, send warmest wishes to Eleanor and the congregation of St Nicholas as they embark on this new phase of ministry together.
A very warm welcome to Rev Ian Miller who takes over as our Locum Minister. Ian is no stranger to many of the congregation, having been minister at nearby Bonhill Parish Church for nearly 40 years, and we look forward to his time with us.
We’re not saying goodbye – Eleanor will continue to be with us for the time being as our Interim Moderator, but will shortly take up the post of Interim Minister at St Nicholas Cardonald in Glasgow.
During the service on Sunday 31 March Margaret Livingstone, Session Clerk, on behalf of the whole congregation, thanked Eleanor for all her efforts over the last few years, acknowledging the stronger and more positive position Riverside is now in and sense of enthusiastic optimism amongst us all for the future.
Tea/coffee and nibbles were served in the main hall after the service.
The Sunday School would like to thank all who supported their Table Top Sale – the grand total of over £500 was raised.
Dumbarton Churches Together held a joint service led by the Rev Eleanor McMahon, minister of Riverside Parish Church of Scotland, Canon Gerry Conroy, the parish priest of St Patrick’s RC Church and Tim Rhead, of St Augustine’s Scottish Episcopal Church
